Celtics trade Jaylen Brown for Paul George
The Boston Celtics traded Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday in exchange for Paul George, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks.
One of the first-rounders is a 2028 one that may turn into a pick swap; the other is a 2031 unprotected first. Then the second rounders are for 2028 and 2030, and will be whichever is the most favorable between the Warriors/Thunder/Bucks (2028) and Wizards/Trail Blazers/Suns (2030).
Brown is under contract for another three years, as he's set to make $57 million this season, $61 million the next, and $64.9 million the following.
George, 36, hasn't played in more than 45 games in the past two seasons and has only played in more than 60 games just once in the past seven seasons.
The nine-time All-Star and six-time All-NBA forward is owed $54.1 million this season and has a $56.5 million player option next year.

The Los Angeles native has spent the past seven years with the Clippers after a one-year championship run with the Raptors during the 2018-2019 season.
Now, he's back in The 6.
Lakers go berserk within first hour
Within the first hour of the free agency period, the Los Angeles Lakers acquired center Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz in exchange for a pair of unprotected first-round picks (2031, 2033), a first-round pick swap in 2028 and another in 2030.
As part of the sign-and-trade deal, Kessler inked a four-year, $130 million contract with LA.
Then the team proceeded to sign Sandro Mamukelashvili (four years, $52 million), Quentin Grimes (four years, $60 million), and Colin Sexton (two years, $19 million).

Celtics land Mitchell Robinson
In more Celtics news, the team signed new NBA champion center Mitchell Robinson to a three-year, $47.4 million deal.
Robinson, 28, had spent all eight years of his career with the Knicks. He finished the 2025-2026 season averaging 5.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 60 games.
Throughout an injury-riddled career, Robinson has played in more than 70 games in a single season only once (2021-2022).
