Denmark's curling women started promisingly, but the Canadians managed to turn the momentum in the nations' opening match at the Winter Olympics.
Three Canadian points in the seventh end became crucial, as Denmark subsequently chose to give up in Thursday's match and lost 4-10.
Madeleine Dupont and co. led 3-2 after the third end, before things went completely wrong in the fifth end, where the Canadians added four points to lead 7-3.
Denmark otherwise had the last stone, and thus the upper hand, but Canada's stones were already placed so well in the house that there was not much to do.
The favorites' lead forced Denmark to take a more aggressive approach, and they managed to reduce the deficit to 4-7 in the sixth end.
However, Canada maintained a high level and did not make the same mistakes as at the beginning of the match.
After the seventh end, the Canadians had taken a six-point lead, and it was difficult for the Danes to see any way out. Consequently they chose to throw in the towel.
