The first half of the inaugural UEFA Women's Champions League league phase occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday, with most of the games being quite close. Here is one stat from each of the matches this round.

Chelsea run rampant as Lyon remain unstoppable

6 - A Stine Brekken goal five minutes before the break helped Valerenga pull off a huge 1-0 victory at AS Roma. Despite attempting 22 shots - five of which were on target - the Giallorosse could not find the back of the net as they still do not have a point. It was the sixth home loss in the Women's Champions League group stage/league phase for Roma.

12 - There was no messing around from Chelsea, who claimed the biggest win of the round in a 6-0 defeat of St. Polten on the road. Catarina Macario and Sam Kerr both netted twice for the Blues in an excellent performance. The Austrian club have lost their last 12 matches in the UWCL proper, having only won once, back in 2022/23.

2 - Caroline Weir scored in the 98th minute for Real Madrid to give them a 1-1 draw at home versus Paris FC. For the second time in this league phase, the club from the French capital failed to hold onto a lead, having to settle for a point. It is just the second time that Real have drawn a European fixture against French opposition.

8 - The round's biggest match ended in Lyon's favour as they topped Wolfsburg 3-1. The competition's all-time leading scorer Ada Hegerberg bagged a five-minute double in the first half to set the record champions on their way. No team has given Wolfsburg more problems than Lyon. That was the eighth defeat for the Frauen Bundesliga outfit.

Bayern produce stunning comeback

74 - Perhaps the most unsurprising result on Wednesday, Barcelona got the job done at home, beating OH Leuven 3-0. Last season's finalists had to work for it though, as they had to wait until first half stoppage time to find the back of the net. Leuven's unbeaten start in the UWCL is done, while Barca have scored 74 times across their UWCL group phase home games all-time.

5 - Bayern Munich were involved in the biggest drama of the round, overturning a 2-0 deficit to beat last campaign's winners Arsenal 3-2 in incredible fashion. Glodis Viggosdottir got her first goal for the club since April with less than five minutes left to complete the impressive comeback. Interestingly, the home team in this fixture has come out on top in all five games all-time.

7 - Speaking of turning things around, that is exactly what Juventus did. Behind away to Atletico Madrid, Emma Godo and Barbara Bonansea struck to help the Bianconere complete a 2-1 victory in the Spanish capital. The Serie A Femminile holders are now in a solid position to advance, especially seeing that they have now won in a UWCL away game for the seventh time, qualifiers included.

14 - Manchester United's maiden campaign in the Women's Champions League proper continues to go from strength to strength. This time, they defeat two-time UWCL finalists PSG 2-1 in front of their home fans. It leaves them with a perfect three wins from three games. PSG mustered 14 attempts in the match, more than their opponents, but it still was not enough.

4 - Twente claim their second point of the league phase in Lisbon in a 1-1 draw with Benfica. The goals came seven minutes apart in the middle of the second half as the Dutch club were certainly left the happier of the two at the final whistle. The only bad news for them is the fact that they remain winless across what is now four head-to-heads against Benfica (0-2-2).
