World number one Jannik Sinner hasn't been at his usual best this tournament, but has still been relatively untested. The Italian has seen off Alexander Bublik and Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets, but was pushed by the Canadian duo of Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime, dropping a set against both of them.
Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz has been faultless. The Spaniard is yet to drop a set, swatting aside the likes of Novak Djokovic, Jiri Lehecka and Arthur Rinderknech. He has a chance to become the first man to ever win the US Open without losing a set.
16:05 CET - We have arrived at the 15th and final day of the US Open, and it is fitting that the men's final pits the best two players in the world - by some distance - against each other.
World number one and defending champion Jannik Sinner faces his arch-rival Carlos Alcaraz in the showpiece event, and after their recent meetings in the French Open and Wimbledon finals, this one promises to be another epic.
Sinner will be looking to become the first man since Roger Federer in 2008 to win back-to-back US Open titles, which would also be his fifth Grand Slam overall. Meanwhile, Alcaraz is also targeting his second here at Flushing Meadows, as well as his sixth major title.
Just this year, Alcaraz defeated Sinner in Paris before the Italian reversed the result in London, but this meeting holds added significance, as the winner will move up to number one in the world rankings.
Alcaraz leads the head-to-head 9-5, but Sinner is on a 27-match winning streak at hard-court majors, stretching back to the Australian Open in 2024.
