The new season is now well underway, as big names start to enter the fray in Brisbane. Meanwhile, action rolls on at the United Cup, Hong Kong and Auckland.

15:30 CET - In the final match of the day, the returning Paula Badosa survived a titanic tussle with Marie Bouzkova, winning 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2 in a little over three hours to move into the next round in Brisbane.

12:40 CET - Straight after winning in the singles, Alex De Minaur and his mixed doubles partner Storm Hunter downed the Czechia pairing 6-2, 6-3 to give hosts Australia the 2-1 victory and book a quarter-final spot.

12:25 CET - The third seed in Brisbane has also come out on top as Elena Rybakina defeated Shuai Zhang 6-3, 7-5 to get her 2026 off to a flying start.

12:10 CET - 11th seed Karolina Muchova was involved in a two-hour and 40-minute tussle with home favourite Ajla Tomljanovic in Brisbane, eventually getting the better of her opponent 4-6, 6-1, 7-6(5) to progress into the second round.

11:00 CET - Grigor Dimitrov has begun his 2026 season with a dominant first-round win against Pablo Carreno-Busta, winning 6-3, 6-2.

10:50 CET - But just like that, Australia are level! Alex De Minaur was in no mood to mess around today and made light work of talented teenager Jakub Mensik to win 6-4, 6-1 in just over an hour and a half.

10:40 CET - Back to the United Cup and Barbora Krejcikova showed her experience to get the better of youngster Maya Joint, giving Czechia a 1-0 lead against Australia. 

10:35 CET - Rising star Alexandra Eala has come from a set down to book her place in the next round in Aukland, beatting Donna Vekic 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

09:15 CET - Cam Norrie has got his 2026 season off to a positive start after a hard-fought victory against Ugo Humbert in Brisbane as he came from a set down to win 1-6, 7-6 (6), 7-5.

09:05 CET - Over in Brisbane, meanwhile, Romanian veteran Sorana Cirstea has produced somewhat of an upset by downing Jelena Ostapenko 6-2, 7-6 (5) in Brisbane.

09:00 CET - Jasmine Paolini has levelled the tie for Italy against France after a dominant 6-2, 6-3 victory against stand-in player Leolia Jeanjean after Lois Boisson was forced to withdraw through injury. That clash will now go to a doubles decider.

07:40 CET - Good morning and welcome back to the Tennis Tracker, with plenty to catch you up on following proceedings overnight.

In the United Cup, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Victoria Mboko both lost as Belgium stunned Canada, whilst Jasmine Paolini is currently trying to save Italy's hopes against France after Flavio Cobolli lost earlier this morning.

Home favourites Australia are set to take on the Czech Republic next, with Alex De Minaur and Jakub Mensik going head to head a little later on, after Maya Joint takes on Barbora Krejcikova.

In Brisbane, Madison Keys and Aryna Sabalenka cruised through on the women's side of the draw, whilst Tommy Paul and Nick Kyrgios were knocked out on the men's side. Karolina Muchova, Paula Badosa, Elena Rybakina and Grigor Dimitrov are all set to take to the court this morning.

Finally in Auckland, 45-year-old Venus Williams put up a fight but was beaten 6-4. 4-6, 6-2 by fifth seed Magda Linette.
