Romanias Sorana Cirstea was not match for Denmarks for Denmarks Clara Tauson in the WTA-500 tournament in Linz as Tauson booked her ticket to the quarterfinals of the tournament where she is set to face the winner between Anna Blinkova and Elina Svitolina.

Clara Tauson advanced to the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 tournament in Linz, Austria on Wednesday.

The Dane, who is number 39 in the world and seeded as number eight in the tournament won relatively comfortably against Cirstea who is ranked 70 in the world.

The 34-year-old Romanian was broken twice in the first set, and Tauson took a 5-1 lead. Cirstea saved a set point and reduced to 2-5, and the Romanian fought hard to get back into the match.

Tauson then wasted three more set points but remained calm and took the first set when she converted her fifth set point.

In the second set, Tauson continued her bright rhythm and broke her opponent cleanly in the first game.

Even under pressure, Tauson was able to turn baseline duels to his advantage. She didn´t serve as well in the second set but still managed to to take a 4-2 lead before Cirstea broke back.

However, it was just a short flourishing for Cirstea as the tide again immediately swung in the favour of Tauson when she broke Cirsteas game to 5-4 and following held her own serve to win the match.
