According to the Danish FA, the new national team shirt has been designed with one clear ambition: To unite the players who wear it on the pitch with all the fantastic fans who support the men's national team through thick and thin. The roles may well be different, but the dreams are the same.
"We have created a jersey that tells the story of Danish football, but also looks to the future," says Lars Stentebjerg, director of Hummel, who has designed the new shirt.
"It's a shirt for all Danes. Whether you're standing in the Parken Stadium, watching the match from home, or playing yourself on the local pitch, this is a piece of Danish identity that you can wear with pride when things go up and when things go down."
"The new shirt symbolizes everything that the national team stands for," says Peter Moller, director of football at DBU. "When the players run onto the field in these colors, they carry all of Denmark's dreams on their shoulders. The players love playing for the national team, and are always proud to represent Denmark and millions of Danes, and I know that they will do everything to win every time and rally the Danes around the team."
It is a standard tradition that Hummel and the Danish FA present a new national team jersey for the men's national team every two years.
