OB 2-3 Silkeborg
Silkeborg on Sunday took a big step towards securing another season in the Danish Superliga when they came away with a 3-2 win in Odense against OB, who suffered a big disappointment in their efforts to secure the seventh spot, which grants a playoff spot for the European club competitions.
Silkeborg took the lead after 18 minutes when Jens Martin Gammelby found space between the legs of OB keeper Viljar Myhra to give the visitors the lead. The home side then restored parity four minutes before the interval when Alexander Priesborg lost possession on the edge of the box, and Jona Niemiec squared the ball for Noah Ganaus, who curled the ball into the back of the net.
Eight minutes after the restart, Tonni Adamsen scored his 14th goal of the season to restore the Silkeborg lead, and then it turned from bad to worse for the home side when Nicolas Bürgy was sent off after 67 minutes for a challenge on Adamsen.
Jens Martin Gammelby then scored his second of the afternoon as Silkeborg made the most of their numerical advantage, and even though William Martin reduced the deficit with a close-range header in the final minutes, the visitors hung on for the win.
Randers FC 1-0 Vejle BK
Despite a direct red card to Cyril Edudzi after just over half an hour of play, Randers FC picked up three vital points in the fight to escape relegation, when the club won 1-0 at home over already relegated Vejle.
Randers controlled the game in the first ten minutes, with Vejle first saving Laurits Pedersen's acrobatic attempt close to the line, before Lucas Lissens' attempt bounced off the woodwork.
The drama increased considerably when Cyril Edudzi made a hard tackle on Lasse Flo after just over half an hour. After a VAR review, the referee had no doubts about the nature of the offense and dismissed Edudzi.
Shortly before the half-time whistle, Wahid Faghir came close to putting Vejle in front when he was left completely unmarked in the box, but Faghir failed to make proper contact with the ball. After just over an hour, Randers then scored the decisive goal when Elies Mahmoud converted a penalty after Lasse Nielsen had touched the ball with his hand in the box.
Fredericia 3-3 FC Copenhagen
FC Copenhagen arrived with plenty of confidence in Fredericia after winning all five matches after Bo Svensson took over from Jacob Neestrup, but they returned to reality when the home side took the lead already in the first minute when Friday Etim scored with a powerful header.
The visitors, however, quickly restored parity after 11 minutes when Jordan Larsson screened the ball for Andreas Cornelius to find the equalizer with a clinical finish.
The home side then restored the lead after 25 minutes when the FC Copenhagen offside trap failed to work its magic, leaving Jonatan Lindekilde in acres of space to slot the ball calmly past the helpless FC Copenhagen keeper Dominik Kotarski.
However, Fredericia hardly had time to celebrate before the visitors levelled the match yet again when Marcos López searched into the box before delivering the ball for Mads Emil Madsen, who made it 2-2 with a strong first-timer. Etim then scored his second of the day with a close-range header four minutes from the end before Jordan Larsson coverted a penalty for the visitors shortly before the end.
