Brondby supporters said they were treated in an undignified manner by FC Midtjylland on Sunday afternoon, when the Herning club had put up a fence which the Brondby fans felt forced to take down in order to be able to see the match.

A steel fence caused quite a stir in connection with the FC Midtjylland-Brondby match Sunday afternoon.

TV images unveiled how Brondby fans took down a steel fence, a deed that was described by the Herning club as "vandalism"

"It is totally unacceptable when vandalism is committed at a stadium - especially when it goes beyond installations that have been set up for the safety of players, fans and employees", says FC Midtjylland in a press release and underline that the fence had been approved by league organizers, Divisionsforeningen.

On Monday, the fan segment "Southside Brondby" made a statement that criticizes conditions at the MCH Arena.

"1000+Brondby fans had made the trip from Copenhagen. However, we were met by a setup which, in our opinion, does not live up to the standard that can be expected in Danish stadiums. There was a fence several meters high, which significantly blocked the view of the pitch."

"The statutes of the league organizers state that there must be a prominent banner space. In practice, the current construction meant that if banners were hung on the fence, the majority of paying fans would lose their view entirely."

"The fence was removed, solely with the aim of being able to place banners appropriately and at the same time preserve the view. There was no intention of trespassing or creating a disturbance. The match proceeded calmly and with respectful behavior. Although it may be difficult to understand as an ordinary citizen, our first priority will always be the visual and vocal support for Brondby."

The match ended in a goalless draw after an intense encounter.
