FC Midtjylland's 19-year old midfielder Alamara Djabi risked losing his life after he was stabbed in the city of Herning on Sunday. He has undergone two operations and is now in a stable condition, says the club on their website.

"The 19-year-old FC Midtjylland player was seriously injured in a stabbing and is now in stable condition after two operations. He has woken up from an induced coma and is doing well under the circumstances. FC Midtjylland is in close dialogue and cooperation with the authorities and supports him and his family", the club writes on its website.

It was an extremely serious attack, the club states.

"Alamara Djabi was subsequently in danger of dying and underwent emergency surgery. He has since undergone another operation, and after professional efforts from the rescue personnel and later hospital doctors, his condition is now stable. He has woken up from an induced coma and is doing well under the circumstances."

Alamara Djabi from Guinea-Bissau is best friends with Superliga top scorer Franculino, and the two teammates were both brought to the club in 2023.

Djabi has played two games for FC Midtjylland's first team, and was most recently in action in the final qualifying round for the Europa League, being substituted in the final phase of the match against Finnish KuPS in August 2025.

The Central and West Jutland Police were searching for 20-year-old Moussa Habib Jensen on Monday afternoon in connection with the stabbing of the FC Midtjylland player.

He has not yet been found as of Tuesday morning, the police say.

"He is still at large. The search has not yielded the results we had hoped for, and we are still investigating", says Susanne Kiel Nielsen, police commissioner in the investigation department at the local police in Herning.
