FC Midtjylland on Sunday continued their latest goalscoring spree when they thumped FC Fredericia at Monjasa Park 4-0 to consolidate their second spot in the Danish Superliga, two points behind AGF who lead the table.

The home side otherwise began brightly and produced a string of half-chances before FC Midtjylland settled into their usual stylish stride. In the 17th minute, a corner was flicked on for Emilio Simonsen, but his shot was blocked by Midtjylland keeper Elias Olafsson.

The visitors gradually began to their feet at the windy Monjasa Park and capitalized on their momentum after 29 minutes when Denil Castillo searched down the right flank and his delivery across goal was hammered home by the on-rushing Franculino

Six minutes later, FC Midtjylland then doubled the lead when Castillo once again turned provider, this time for the South Korean striker Cho Gue-sung, who volleyed the ball superbly into the net.

All hope of a potential comeback from the home side was extinguished already five minutes after the interval when Mikel Gogarza, who had replaced Aral Simsir at the break, capitalized on a mistake from Fredericia's Andreas Pyndt to make it 3-0.

And just three minutes later, the visitors put the final nail in the Fredericia coffin, when Junior Brumado, who had come on as a substitute for Franculino from the start of the second half, delivered a strong header to make it 4-0, which was also the final result.

In the other early kickoff game of the afternoon, Silkeborg deepened the crisis for Vejle who are isolated at the bottom of the league. Christian Gammelgaard otherwise gave the home side hope of getting their first win since 1 August but two goals from Tonni Adamsen (19') and Pedro Ganchas (31') turned the tide in the visitor's favour allowing Silkeborg to move up to 7th spot in the league.
