The FC Porto defender and Poland international had returned home with his wife and young daughter at around 9:30pm after attending an art exhibition when they allegedly discovered an intruder inside the property.
According to Portuguese outlet Record, the suspect threatened Bednarek with a knife before fleeing the scene.

Reports claim the burglar escaped with valuables estimated to be worth around €150,000 (£129,000), leaving the family badly shaken by the incident. Local authorities have since launched an investigation into the armed robbery.
The frightening encounter came just days after Bednarek celebrated a major achievement on the pitch, scoring the winning goal in Porto’s 1-0 victory over Alverca to secure the club’s first league title in four years.
