Goalkeeper

Matthijs Branderhorst (Fortuna Sittard) - 7.8

It wasn't the best week for Eredivisie goalkeepers, with only one clean sheet recorded, and Bernt Klaverboer, the keeper responsible for it, making just one save.

Fortuna's Matthijs Branderhorst took the top score with a 7.8 rating, with his penalty save in the 90th minute and five total saves making up for two conceded goals in the 2-2 away draw at NEC.

Defenders

Maas Willemsen (Heerenveen) - 8.3

Heerenveen were fantastic against Excelsior, and Maas Willemsen was as decisive from the back as always. The centre-half sprinkled line-breaking passes like candy, completing 10 long passes and notching a game-high 15 progressive passes on 98 touches.

Sem Valk (Telstar) - 8.4

Young Sem Valk was almost unlucky not to grab a point with Telstar against Feyenoord, the club he played for for 15 years. The centre-half played a fantastic game, winning four tackles, including a last-man tackle, and adding an assist in the 4-3 home defeat. He also led the game in touches (90) and accurate passes (68).

Oliver Braude (Heerenveen) - 8.7

Heerenveen fans will be ever so happy that Oliver Braude stayed put last summer. The Norwegian full-back shone against Excelsior, scoring a fantastic goal and creating one big chance, while also completing 15 passes in the final third.

Midfielders

Dennis Geiger (NEC) - 8.6

NEC might still be winless since late August, German midfielder Dennis Geiger was exceptional against Fortuna Sittard. The former Hoffenheim man notched six key passes and created one big chance, which led to Kevin Kers' opening goal, and completed a staggering 48 passes in the final third.

Juho Kilo (ADO Den Haag) - 9.1

ADO Den Haag created the shock of the weekend by grabbing their first win of the season against none other than reigning champions PSV. Key to the promoted side's win was Finnish midfielder Juho Kilo, whose deflected effort flew past Matej Kovar for the equaliser.

Beyond the goal, Kilo was absolutely everywhere for ADO - 89 completed passes, 49 of which in the final third, 115 touches, 20 progressive carries, and 8 won duels were all game-highs. Truly deserving of our Player of the Week award.

Thijs Oosting (PEC Zwolle) - 8.7

Playing against your father at the highest level is special as is, but for Thijs Oosting, it's even more than that. Oosting excels when playing against father Joseph, who managed PEC Zwolle's bitter rivals, Go Ahead Eagles, and proved that again on Sunday - in PEC's 4-1 derby win, which followed days after the sacking of manager Henry van der Vugt, Oosting scored twice, one of which was an absolute firecracker.

It brought his career Eredivisie tally to 15, five of which came against teams managed by his father.

Jorthy Mokio (Ajax) - 8.5

Ajax were in a hole after a couple of bad results, with the latest a rather shocking UEFA Conference League defeat to Hajduk Split. A tricky away game at FC Groningen could've made it much worse for the Amsterdam giants, but instead, Jorthy Mokio powered them to a 5-2 win with his two goals.

Jens Toornstra (Sparta Rotterdam) - 8.5

Sparta Rotterdam waited two months for an Eredivisie win, but it finally came again on Saturday, when Willem II were beaten 3-2. 37-year-old Jens Toornstra showed he still had it, scoring the equaliser before setting up the 3-1 with a lovely chipped cross.

Forwards

Angel Alarcon (FC Utrecht) - 8.5

It hasn't been the start FC Utrecht would've liked to their Eredivisie season, but a 2-1 win against FC Twente helped their cause a lot. Angel Alarcon made all the difference in Enschede, scoring a wonderful goal to level the score and bagging the winner with another well-placed shot.

Jacob Trenskow (Heerenveen) - 8.5

When Jacob Trenskow is involved in goals, Heerenveen simply don't lose. The Danish winger caused all sorts of problems for Excelsior, scoring the 4-0, assisting Braude's goal with a fancy backheel pass, and coming eerily close to a fantastic goal when he hit the crossbar.

In total, Trenskow led everyone with 5 shots and 10 touches in the opposition's box.
