The curtain has come down on a mesmerising 2025 Allsvenskan season with champions Mjallby earning another victory that sees them increase their record points tally to 75, but at the other end of the table there was heartbreak for Oster, who made an immediate return to the second tier after they were beaten by Djurgarden.

On a day of celebration at Strandvallen, the Mjallby fans were made to wait for the party to really start as they watched their heroes face Hacken, as despite nine efforts on target, it took until the 81st minute for the hosts to break the deadlock.

Alexander Johansson took the ball down with real grace and used wonderful skill to evade his marker, before unleashing an effort from over 25 yards which took a wicked deflection and nestled in the back of the net with the goalkeeper beaten.

A sixth goal of the season for the forward was enough for the three points that took MAIF to three-quarters of a century, 13 more than their nearest rival, and 23 wins and only one defeat from their 30 matches. Hacken finish the season in 10th place, but with another Svenska Cupen to their name.

At the other end of the table, three teams began the day at risk of joining Varnamo in the automatic relegation places, but ultimately it was Oster who made an immediate return to the Superettan, after they lost 3-1 at home to Djurgarden.

The hosts gave themselves real hope of at least climbing into the Playoff place when they took the lead in first-half stoppage time through Alibek Aliev's towering header, but that joy only lasted until three minutes after half-time when Adam Stahl equalised with an effort from 18 yards out.

The turnaround was complete 11 minutes from time when Patric Aslund's fierce effort from 30 yards was too much for the goalkeeper to handle, and the final nail in the Oster coffin came 10 minutes into added time when August Priske curled in his 18th of the season.

That drew Priske level with GAIS' Ibrahim Diabate at the top of the golden boot race, as Djurgarden's win sees them finish in fifth place as they ended the season well but left it too late for a European challenge.

The big winners on the final day were Degerfors, as Oster's defeat saved them from automatic relegation, while their 3-1 victory over Brommapojkarna and Norrkoping's 2-0 loss to Goteborg means they survive, while Norrkoping must face the Playoff to stay in the top flight.

Dijan Vukojevic gave Degerfors the lead after half an hour with a free-kick that sailed around the wall, before Marcus Rafferty drove right through the BP defence to double the visitors' lead with 15 minutes to play.

The Bromma Boys responded three minutes later courtesy of Alex Timossi Andersson's clean strike, but the win was sealed four minutes from time when Nahom Girmai tapped home following a well-worked attack.

In Gothenburg, second-half goals from Saidou Alioum and Imam Jagne ensured Goteborg finished in fourth place and Norrkoping lost a sixth match in a row, which has seen them sleepwalk into the Relegation Playoff place and allow Degerfors to preserve their place in the Allsvenskan.

Norrkoping will now face Orgryte in a two-legged tie to determine who takes the final place in the 2026 top flight. Brommapojkarna, meanwhile, finish down in 12th place after no wins in their last six games.

Elsewhere on the final day, Paulos Abraham scored twice as second-placed Hammarby surpassed 60 points, reaching 62 with a 3-0 win at home to Elfsborg, whose rotten second half of the season sees them finish in eighth place.

GAIS were already sure to finish third, and therefore they won't lose much sleep over their 2-1 loss away at Malmo, whose sixth-place finish is only their second outside the top three since 2015.

A poor end to the campaign for AIK was compounded by a 2-0 loss at home to Halmstad, who see the long-time European hopefuls finish down in seventh, if only four points off the top three. Halmstad finish in 11th place, despite only Varnamo having a worse goal difference.

As for Varnamo, they drop into the second tier with a 3-1 loss away to Sirius. The bottom side finish on 16 points, 14 shy of guaranteed survival. A three-match winning run to end the season sees Sirius finish in ninth place.
