The Derby County forward has been drafted into Carlos Queiroz's squad following Mohammed Kudus' withdrawal and growing doubts over the availability of Prince Adu Kwabena.
Kudus opted out of the international window after recently returning to competitive action for Tottenham Hotspur following a seven-month injury lay-off.
The midfielder wants to continue his recovery and regain full fitness before returning to international duty.
Adu Kwabena, meanwhile, is facing an anxious wait after suffering a head injury during Viktoria Plzen’s game against Slavia Prague over the weekend.
He was stretchered off and is expected to undergo further medical assessment to determine whether he can join the Black Stars.
Fuseini now returns to the national team setup more than a year after making his Ghana debut.
The 24-year-old received his maiden Black Stars call-up for the 2025 Unity Cup in London. He made his debut as a late substitute against Nigeria before scoring in his first start against Trinidad and Tobago, helping Ghana to a 4-0 victory in the third-place playoff.
Despite making an immediate impact at the tournament, Fuseini had not received another senior call-up until now.
The forward has started the 2026/27 season with a move to England, joining Derby County on loan from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise.
He opened his Derby account at the weekend, scoring a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Fuseini came off the bench in the second half before finding the net in stoppage time to rescue a point for John Eustace's side. The goal was his first for Derby since joining the Championship club.
Fuseini is expected to join the Black Stars camp this week as Ghana begin their 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign away to Ivory Coast in Bouaké on September 24th.
Ghana will then host Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 29th before travelling to Tangier for an international friendly against Morocco on October 4th.
