The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) announced at 4pm local time on Saturday that the 6pm game at Polytec Stadium will be moved to Sunday afternoon due to unplayable conditions.

"With over 64mm of rain falling in the last hour at polytec Stadium and more than 40mm of rain expected before kick-off, the proactive decision has been made to postpone the fixture with pitch conditions deemed unplayable," the league stated shortly before the scheduled kickoff.

The league announced on Saturday evening that the rescheduled match will take place at 2:00pm AEDT on Sunday afternoon as a curtain raiser to the 5:00pm A-League Women's game against Central Coast Mariners and Perth Glory.

The inconvenience caps off a horrendous week for the Mariners after their ownership were stripped of the club licence, with the APL taking over and the future of the club academy thrown into sudden limbo.

Refunds will be available for any existing ticket-holders who cannot make the new kick-off time.
