Mohamed Salah will be the centre of attention as Liverpool return to action in a blockbuster FA Cup clash against Manchester City today, following confirmation of his impending departure.

The Egyptian forward has announced he will leave Anfield at the end of the season, bringing the curtain down on a glittering nine-year spell on Merseyside.

Attention has now turned to his next destination, with sources indicating to Flashscore that a move to the Saudi Pro League is becoming increasingly likely.

Sources state that fresh talks have taken place since Salah’s announcement, with a departure from the Premier League now viewed as inevitable.

While clubs across Europe and the United States have interest, it is Saudi officials who have made the most immediate progress in negotiations.

Salah has long been open to the prospect of a move to Saudi Arabia, and with the 33-year-old set to become a free agent this summer, the transfer is gaining momentum.

Among the frontrunners, we understand Al-Ittihad are currently leading the race for his signature.

However, competition remains - with Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, NEOM SC, and Al-Qadsiah all linked.

Sources suggest a deal is now edging closer, with Saudi Arabia emerging as the most probable destination, pending Salah’s final decision.

If Salah is to end his Liverpool career with a trophy, today's game marks a very key moment. But deciding on his future move is very much an active situation.
