Denmark on Thursday again underlined their expertise in track cycling at the World Championships in Chile.
The Danish men on Thursday night defended their World Championship title in the 4000-meter team pursuit after defeating Australia in the final.
National coach Casper Jorgensen had chosen Frederik Rodenberg, Tobias Aagaard Hansen, Rasmus Lund Pedersen, and Niklas Larsen to take part in the final in Chile.
The team was thus the same as in the first round, which corresponded to the semi-finals. In qualifying, Lasse Norman Leth had replaced Frederik Rodenberg.
"The whole team was just fucking strong. It all just worked out. It was absolutely perfect. The plan went as it should, and everyone executed perfectly", said Tobias Aagaard to TV 2 Sport.
The Danes were in the lead from start to finish in the final in Santiago, Chile, where there was never really any doubt about the outcome. The Danish winning time was 3.43.915 minutes, which was almost four seconds faster than the Australians.
Denmark crushed every other nation in Wednesday's qualifier, setting the fastest time of all, before New Zealand were defeated in the subsequent semi-final.
