Rohl, 37, joined Rangers last October following the disastrous tenure of Russell Martin and managed to turn them into title contenders.
Rangers ultimately finished third in the Scottish Premiership due to four defeats in their final five games of the campaign.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, RB Salzburg are now pushing to make Rohl their new manager and are in talks with Rangers.
The German has a history with Red Bull, having previously been part of RB Leipzig’s coaching set-up, and was a candidate to take over at Salzburg last summer.
