NHL roundup: Minnesota's Marcus Foligno scores first career hat track in 15th season

Minnesota Wild veteran Marcus Foligno scored his very first career hat trick in his 15th season to lead the Wild to a 6-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs during the National Hockey League's 10-game slate on Monday.

Wild 6-3 Maple Leafs

After scoring only three goals all season, Foligno scored his first-ever hat trick to double his season total in his 15th season. 

Minnesota won back-to-back and improved to 28-13-9, while the Maple Leafs dropped to 24-17-8.

Sharks 4-1 Panthers

With the return of Matthew Tkachuk for the Panthers, and a massive goalie fight between San Jose's Alex Nedeljkovic and Florida's Sergei Bobrovsky, the Sharks played spoiler all around. 

Nedeljkovic made 35 saves as teammate Vincent Desharnais scored his first goal of the season, as the Sharks improved to 25-20-3. 

Florida fell to the same record of 25-20-3.

Blackhawks 2-0 Jets

Blackhawks goalie Spencer Knight recorded his third shutout of the season with 32 saves, also the eighth of his career, as he lifted his team to 20-22-7. 

Jason Dickinson (6) and Connor Bedard (20) scored for the Blackhawks, putting the Jets back in the loss column for the second straight game as they fell to 19-23-6.

Long-time Blackhawks legend Jonathan Toews received an electric standing ovation in his first game back.

Hurricanes 2-1 Sabres

Andrei Svechnikov (17) tied it all up 1-1 for the Canes less than six minutes after Rasmus Dahlin (7) put the Sabres up 1-1. 

But Carolina's Seth Jarvis (22) took advantage of a third-period power play to give the Canes their third straight win, improving to 31-15-4.

Sabres fall to 26-17-5.

Avalanche 5-2 Capitals

Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon put up two goals and an assist in a game the Avs outshot the Caps 44-24.

MacKinnon became just the 70th player in NHL history to reach 1,100 career points. 

Washington's Jakob Chychrun, who scored his 18th of the season, now has three goals in the past two games for a Caps team who dropped their third straight, falling to 24-20-6.

Penguins 6-3 Kraken

After the Kraken scored two straight goals to tie it 2-2, Pittsburgh would score four of the game's next five goals to improve to 23-14-11.

Seattle has now lost six of their last seven, falling 21-18-9. 

Pittsburgh's Anthony Mantha, Blake Lizotte, and Sidney Crosby all had two assists each, while Brett Kulak scored his first goal of the season.

Flyers 2-1 Knights

Two goals from Travis Konecny (17) put an end to both the Flyers' six-game skid and the Golden Knights's seven game win streak.

Konecy now has three goals in the past two games as the Flyers improved to 23-17-8, while the Knights dropped to 24-12-12.

Devils 2-1 Flames

Simon Nemec (8) played hero for the Devils after scoring the game-winner in overtime as they improved to 25-22-2.

Calgary fell to 21-23-5.
