Every team in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) now has at least one win after HV71 got off the mark at the seventh time of asking with a 2-1 victory over Leksand. At the other end of the table, Frolunda are still the team to catch after they beat Brynas, 3-1.

With their last three defeats all by a single goal, including a loss to Frolunda in their previous match, belief that HV71 could finally get points on the board would have been growing.

That belief would have risen further in the early stages of the second period tonight, when Jonathan Ang put them ahead, only for Oskar Lang to equalise for Leksand in the final minute of the second.

But the night, and the three points, belonged to the Jonkoping side, who retook the lead in the ninth minute of the third period through Hugo Fransson.

The 2-1 win was enough to take HV71 off the bottom of the standings, as they went above Linkoping on goal difference, as they were beaten 2-0 by Farjestad, who move into third despite an inconsistent run. Leksand sit ninth after back-to-back defeats.

Brynas finished top of the Regular Season pile last season, but it's Frolunda out in front early on this time around, and they cemented their first place with a 3-1 win over the Gavle side in Gothenburg.

Powerplay goals either side of the 20-minute horn from Max Lindholm put the hosts in control, before Arttu Ruotsalainen added a third in the dying embers of the second period.

Greg Scott pulled one back for the visitors, but it's now six wins from seven for Frolunda, while Brynas are hovering just above the bottom two, with only five points on the board.

Elsewhere this evening, an overtime winner earned Rogle a 2-1 win over Timra, taking them above their opponents into fourth place. Skelleftea sit sixth, after they grabbed a 4-3 victory over Lulea, whose title defence continues to endure a rocky start, as they fall to 10th place.

4-3 was also the final score in Orebro, where the hosts took three points against Djurgarden for just their second win of the season. They sit 11th, while the new boys fall to seventh. Second-place Vaxjo and eighth-placed Malmo were not in action this evening.
