The NHL had a slower three-game slate on Wednesday night that was headlined by the New York Rangers comeback win over the Boston Bruins.

Artemi Panarin (23) got things started for the Rangers in the second period but David Pastrnak (28) and Elias Lindholm (10) took the 2-1 lead. But Vincent Trocheck (16) tied it up for New York before Chris Kreider (16) nailed a clutch short-handed goal to seal the 3-2 win for the Rangers.

New York has won back-to-back games while also ending the Bruins' two-game win streak. Both teams still stand in sixth place in their respective divisions but a revenge win for the Rangers just two games removed from a loss to Boston has the team feeling a step ahead.

Oilers 4-3 Blackhawks

The Oilers took one in overtime against the Blackhawks to, also, win back-to-back games. Despite the Blackhawks being down 3-1 in the third period, goals Ryan Donato (16) and Alec Martinez (3) tied it all up to send it into overtime.

Unfortunately, the Blackhawks' tough effort came up short as Zach Hyman (19) scored the game-winning power-play goal in OT. This now marks Chicago's third straight loss and fourth in the last five games.

Meanwhile, the Oilers try to creep closer in the Western Conference standings with a 35-16-4 record as the red-hot Winnipeg Jets keep widening the gap.

Los Angeles Kings 6-3 Montreal Canadiens

The Los Angeles Kings claimed their second win in a row with a victory over the Montreal Canadiens, who have now lost four of their last five.

Vladislav Gavrikov gave the Kings the lead early in the opening period and it stayed 1-0 until the fourth minute of the second, when Mike Matheson drew the Canadiens level.

The Kings pulled away after that though, with Warren Foegele restoring their lead just over a minute later to put them 2-1 heading into the final period, where they scored four to the Canadiens' two.
