Dodgers name Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto starting pitchers for World Series Games 1 & 2

The Los Angeles Dodgers named Blake Snell and Yoshinobu Yamamoto the starting pitchers for Games 1 (October 24th) and 2 (October 25th), respectively.

Snell, who will start Game 1, has given up just two hits in his last two postseason starts - throwing 14 shutout innings with 19 strikeouts and just four walks. 

Both Snell and Yamamoto will be coming off 10 days' worth of rest.

Yamamoto is coming off a complete game against the Milwaukee Brewers during the National League Championship Series.

He gave up just one run on three hits with seven strikeouts and a walk on 111 pitches (81 strikes). 

They'll be going up against a Toronto Blue Jays team that just clinched their way to the World Series with a Game 7 win over the Seattle Mariners

No starters for the Blue Jays have been announced at this time. 

Game 1 of the 2025 World Series is scheduled for Friday, October 24th, in Toronto. The Blue Jays have home-field advantage throughout the World Series, with the schedule set as:

Game 2 - Saturday, October 25, in Toronto

Game 3 - Monday, October 27th, in Los Angeles

Game 4 - Tuesday, October 28th, in Los Angeles

Game 5 - Wednesday, October 29th, in Los Angeles (*if necessary)

Game 6 - Friday, October 30th, in Toronto (*if necessary)

Game 7 - Saturday, November 1st, in Toronto (*if necessary)
