Christian Eriksen says there is no reason to worry following Ruben Amorims claims that Manchester United need to be 'really careful' with Christian Eriksen as the repercussions of his cardiac arrest in 2021 continue to impact his career.

After missing out on United's recent trip to Tottenham due to illness, which saw Ruben Amorims's men suffer a 1-0 defeat - the Portuguese coach opened up on Eriksen's situation.

Amorim said: "I think Leny (Yoro) and Chris, they were sick. So they will recover. Of course Chris has the heart situation and we have to be really careful with that.

'It's nothing about the heart! I'm just saying the heart rate has to be controlled because he has a fever."

Eriksen fell to the ground and suffered an on-pitch cardiac arrest near the end of the first half during Denmark's Euro 2020 clash with Finland.

The 33-year old midfielder since recovered to play at the highest level for Brentford, and now United, but there are still concerns as to how the Danish star continues his career.

The concerns regarding his wellbeing has reached a level where Eriksen now felt compelled to make a rare message via social media to de-escalate the drama surrounding his heart-condition.

"I just want to say thank you to everyone who wished me a speedy recovery after I missed the game against Tottenham. I was affected by a virus, as many others are at this time of year. Nothing serious and soon back to training," he writes in a story on Instagram.

Eriksen could be in action again Saturday afternoon when Manchester United faces Everton at Goodison Park.
