Amazon Prime will broadcast the Thursday night primetime game, which will be the teams' third matchup in the past five years.
The last time the two teams met was in 2024, when the Bills won 48-42. Buffalo finished the 2025 season with a 12-5 record, while the Lions finished 9-8, missing the playoffs.
The full schedule for every team around the league will be revealed on May 14th.
The new Highmark Stadium has been under construction since June 2023.
Old Highmark stood for 53 years, making it the fourth-oldest stadium in the NFL behind Chicago's Soldier Field (1924), Green Bay's Lambeau Field (1957), and Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium (1972).
The Bills' run at old Highmark started the way it began, with a win against the New York Jets. In 1973, the Bills defeated the Jets 9-7. Then, 53 years later, the iconic stadium saw its final game with a 35-8 win against the boys in green.
The NFL landmark had many names through the years, including Rich Stadium (1973–1997), Ralph Wilson Stadium (1998–2015), aka 'The Ralph', New Era Field (2016–2019), Bills Stadium (2020), and Highmark Stadium (2021-2025).
