The games will take place on December 11th and December 12th in respective home markets before the NBA Cup heads to Las Vegas for the semi-finals and finals on December 14th.
This is now the second NBA Cup in league history since being implemented in 2023. The Los Angeles Lakers took home the very first NBA Cup championship after beating the Indiana Pacers by a score of 123-109 but failed to make it out of the group stage this year.
Eastern Conference matchups
The Milwaukee Bucks, who have won seven straight, will face the NBA's biggest surprise in the Orlando Magic in the quarter-finals of the NBA Cup while the New York Knicks will take on a red-hot Atlanta Hawks team that has won four straight.
The Magic, Knicks, Bucks, and Hawks respectively hold the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth seeds in the Eastern Conference at this point in the season. The Magic got into the Wild Card spot, despite their loss to the Knicks, since they beat out the Celtics in point differential.
Western Conference matchups
The team that leads the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder, as well as the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors all topped their respective groups with 3-1 records, securing their spots in the quarter-finals.
The Dallas Mavericks claimed the Wild Card with a thrilling victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night, with a superior point differential to the Phoenix Suns. They will face the Thunder, while the Rockets and Warriors will go head to head.
