Ethan Holliday (18) signed his $9 million rookie deal with the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday, making it the biggest bonus for a high school player in MLB history.

Hollida, out of Stillwater High School, was the fourth overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft earlier this month with a slot value of just over $8.7 million.

Ethan's brother Jackson was selected first overall by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2022 MLB Draft and is currently one of their top players this season.

Their father, Matt, also like Ethan, was drafted by the Rockies, but in the seventh round of the 1998 draft before going on to play six seasons in Colorado.

Ethan was rated as the top prospect on many draft boards prior to this year's draft and was scouted as being a power powerful hitter than his older brother, drawing more comparisons to his dad.

Fans can probably expect the 6-foot-4 power lefty to join the Rockies much sooner rather than later as they currently possess the worst record (24-76) in all of baseball.
