The Atlanta Braves announced on Monday that the team hired Walt Weiss (61) as the team's new manager as they begin offseason preparations for the 2026 season.

Weiss spent the previous eight years as the Braves' bench coach after spending four years (2013-2016) as the manager of the Colorado Rockies, where he finished with a record of 283-365.

The Atlanta Braves finished the year with a 76-86 record under the final year of Brian Snitker as manager, who personally decided to step down after the 2025 season ended.

Under Snitker, the Braves went 811-668, including a World Series in 2021. This past season was the Braves' first losing record under Snitker since his second season in 2017, when the team went 72-90.

From 2018 to 2024, Snitker led the Braves to seven straight postseason appearances and six straight National League East division pennants.

He ends his tenure with a Manager of the Year Award and the third-most winningest manager in Braves history.
