Right tackle Darnell Wright has signed a contract extension with the Chicago Bears, which will make him the highest-paid tackles in the NFL.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Wright signed a four-year contract extension with the Bears valued at $116 million, with a guaranteed $93 million. This makes him the highest-paid right tackle in NFL history as a result.

Wright was the 10th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and has been crucial for the team. In his three seasons in Chicago, the soon-to-be 25-year-old has started 49 times.

He is coming off his best year in the NFL, having picked up second-team All-Pro honours. The Bears' offensive line was the league's third-best rushing attack, and in the regular season allowed the second least sacks.

In an offseason poll by ESPN, which league coaches and executives voted on, Wright was the sixth best offensive tackle in the league.
