Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield (29) is suing his father's company, Camwood Capital Management Group, after he and his wife, Emily, claimed that the company breached a contract between the two parties.

The lawsuit that was filed on Friday, November 22nd, against Camwood Capital goes on to state that the company and Baker's dad, James, stole millions of dollars from the married couple, leading to the claim of a breach of contract.

Over the course of the three years between 2018 and 2021, Camwood Capital transferred around $12.2 million of their money without any sort of permission and never once paid them back. A settlement of $11.7 million was agreed upon but none of that has been paid to the Mayfields, leading them to finally take heavy legal action.

The first payment of $250,000 was originally supposed to be made on September 30th of this year to the couple but they never received a single penny. But it doesn't just stop at Camwood Capital, with four other companies also being targeted by the Mayfields in this lawsuit.

These include Texas Contracting Manufacturing Group (a branch of Camwood Capital), Unitech Tool & Machine (which was acquired by TCMG in 2022), Apex Machining (owned by TCMG), and Lor-Van Manufacturing (also owned by TCMG), all of which have their lips sealed despite the Mayfield's efforts to get some answers.

"Once Plaintiffs began to uncover Defendants' misconduct and sought answers to explain the taking of their assets, Defendants attempted to obscure the relevant information, avoided Plaintiffs' inquiries, and invented fictional explanations for their actions," the lawsuit reads.

Baker is currently having the best season of his career for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, posting 2,799 passing yards with 24 touchdowns and only nine interceptions with a 104.1 passer rating.

The 5-6 Bucs will be travelling to Carolina on December 1st to take on the 3-8 Panthers.
